Summary of interview
Chan Man recalls his experience working in ward 8A, Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH), the initial centre of the hospital outbreak during the SARS epidemic. He talks about the outbreak itself, setting up ward facilities specifically for treating SARS patients, manpower issues, communication across the hospital and evolution of personal protective equipment. Despite the staffing shortage, he concludes that the key to overcoming the crisis was the team spirit of the nursing staff.
