Permanent exhibition “Understanding Disease”
The exhibition attempts to answer the question “What makes us ill?”
Communicable diseases are still common today, but non-communicable diseases are now the major cause of death in Hong Kong and worldwide. The exhibition presents key topics in infectious diseases, and highlights the role of lifestyle choices in the increase and prevention of non-communicable diseases is highlighted in the exhibition, together with key topics on infectious diseases which are still common today.
Visitors can explore the various topics through premiere interactive exhibits such as hologram and games to learn how a new influence virus is born, the role of human beings in the emergence of “new” epidemics, and the 2003 SARS outbreak and oral history archive.
